I am doing a research study to determine if the test article is absorbed into the bloodstream when applied once daily for 8 weeks to the forearm.  The test articles are a combination of TRETINOIN ( a drug derived from vitamin A used for acne), HYDROQUINONE (a drug used for bleaching the skin), and FLUOCINOLONE ACETONIDE(a steroid drug used to reduce inflammation) in a cream base. This formulation is used to lighten the skin when hyperpigmentation is present. 1 gram/day for eight (8) weeks.  I need to know if these test articles are absorbed into the blood stream if their could be ANY danger to my health or skin???

Sharon:

You are describing he so-called "Kligman formula," devleoped in the 1970's by the eminent Philadelphia dermatologist, Dr. Albert Kligman.  Each ingredient is itself in wide use.  Why are you researching the safety of things used safely for so long?  (Use in pregnancy is another matter, when greater caution is exercised.)

best.
