saline injection for cortisone induced atrophy

by Kwilkes06, Aug 10, 2008 04:12PM
hi,
i recently went to the doctor for a pimple that i had had for over two weeks.  although the pimple was subsiding the physicians assistant still gave me a cortisone shot.  he said it was a very tiny amount and that it was diluted but about 1 week later i started noticing an indent.  it has now been three weeks and the dent is very noticeable on the left side of my chin.
i've heard about saline injections to correct this.  do saline injections work and on average how long does it take to see a change?
also, would any sort of filler be an option or would that impede the natural healing?  i've also heard that this can create a lump when your actual skin starts growing back.  is this true?

what kind of a doctor gives you a cortisone shot for a single pimple?  that is insane...get a new dermatologist.
