scab on penis....

I GOT A SCAB ON MY PENIS......IT LOOKS LIKE ITS TRYING TO HEAL BT WONT COMPLETELY DO IT,,,,,,MY BALLS ITCH FROM TIME TO TIME BT MY SCAB ITCHES ALSO....WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM??

This scab can be due to trauma after scratching, insect bite, scabies lesion or any other skin condition. Scabies is an infestation of the skin with the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.
