scabies and skin cancer

I have a roomate that has been diagnosed with scabies and prescribed acticin. Her dr said the entire household should also be treated. My mother had been visiting and she has squamous cell, and basil cell carcinoma. Is Acticin safe for her to use?

Scabies is a contagious disease which spreads through people who live together and share linen.

Actinin contains the active ingredient- permethrin. this is a potent antiscabetic and is very effective. however, it should not applied to broken skin or wounds. Since  your mother has an opn wound (the cancer) she will need an alternative to the application. there are some oral drugs available and your doctor can prescribe the same for your mother.

Thank You for the response.  I had heard of that from my doctor, however she was very reluctant to even give me information on an oral treatment because she said that they are very potent and your liver must first be checked beforehand. She has a few sores, not necessarily open, on her legs. Should she just use the topical and avoid these areas? Thank you again.
