ME and my daughter caught scabies froma friend that slept over the house.. I don't know what else to do.. I have been told that the saltwater from the beach also kills it.. What do you say about that?please let me know i am diening to get rid of the thing...Thank you for your time...
Treatment of scabies is specific and consists of topical medicines like permethrin, malathion, lindane and tea tree oil and oral medicine like ivermectin. Permethrin 5% is the topical medicine of choice. 10% sulfur ointment in petroleum jelly applied topically is effective. A single dose of ivermectin is also effective but use it under a dermatologist’s evaluation. Scabies is highly contagious and is transmissible from daily household articles also and all family members may require the treatment. So I would advise an evaluation by a dermatologist.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Warm regards.
