scrotum

I dunno what to do ! I'm 52 yrs old have a weird skin sensation on my scrotum and no where else. Its like a rash hot itchy and burns after I scratch. Sometimes I get a few of these white scabby sores that come off with a little scratch and then its sore . I have tried cortizone creams and presciption creams such as lamisil and it does stop the itching.I have had a few liasons with women but always protected. Can you get herpes or skin infections from a handjob? I am really worried about this and I have had sex in the meantime with my wife and she has not mentioned any skin problems to me, Sometimes at night I will experience hotness in my scrotum and then it gets itchy and I have to scratch or it drives me crazy!! How often does herpes outbreaks happen over a year usually because sometimes I feel great one day and the next day it reoccurs.  I sure hope it isn't as i have seen pictures and these are not blisters as herpes pictures are .Can anyone out there help ?  This has been going on for over a year and I am at my wits end right now. I must say that it is only on my ball sack and no where else!! Please help ?
