sir,i am  suffering frm SD past 5 yrs.being a medico i could do nothing.i had used all the medicines available.isotretinoin, steroid shampoos, anti fungals,metadoxine,harmonal pills...i hav very oily greasy scalp.i believe dat if i could inhibit the sebum production i will be treated..any suggestions waiting for...........

Hello,
There is no medical condition as such which causes oiliness of the hair. I would suggest you to clean your hair frequently with a mild shampoo(you can use the ones for oily hair) and don’t apply any conditioner on the hair. Also you can shampoo twice during each wash and apply shampoo on the scalp without piling the hair on top.

You can treat flaking and dryness of seborrheic dermatitis  over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium.

If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist
