During the summerSummers eve anti-itch i tried to use a skin care regime but it back fired and i ended up with comedonal acne. i used to have perfectPerfect choice skin but i don't know what i have now. i used benzoly peroxide for TWO months ago but it worked but it was too harsh on my skin and my skin got really swollenSwollen glands and red. I started using various products and my comedonal acne as subsided. But the problem now is that my forhead has small red like bumps all over it. I especially get it after i use a cleasner. Even the most gentleGentle laxative one. The sides of my noseNose fracture looks inflammed also has crusty oily flakes especially after a shower. My faceFace pain itches mainly along my eyebrow and the sides of my nose. My eyebrow had small salt like dandruff. Also if i try to put a moisturizer on my skin gets more irritated and get reddish on my forehead. could i be getting seboherria due to an allergic reaction. also i also recently suffer from hair dandruff. I cant see a dermatologist until late feb.
can i just wash my face twice a day with water since i am senstive to everything and wait it out for things to get better. or can i use something like hhydrocortosine cream. I heard they are bad for face. please i need some suggestions.
I cannot confirm anything without examination, but your symptoms are suggestive of seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium.
Also wash the skin with a mild face wash like cataphil and apply hypoallergenic light moisturizer. If the symptoms persist then you can apply a mild steroid cream on the skin.
If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.
