I'm currently on Epiderma (prescription by dermatologist) but is there any surgical way to get rid of this? It's just too severe to be handles by a simple cream or crystal pealing (which i did last summer for a month)
any suggestions? please help D=
i've asked for help before on a different forum and all they were concerned about was damaging my skin even further through surgical treatments. is it okay for a 16 year old to go through it? or is it better because my skin will be able to heal faster? or is my skin too fragile because it's still growing?
Hello,
The lesion that you have described sounds like a scar with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a condition where there is an excess amount of pigment following a disease process that affects the skin. Without treatment, this usually takes about 6 months to resolve and for the skin color to go back to its normal color. Topical treatments with acids and chemical peels can be effective but can take a while for the skin to totally revert to its normal color. Microdermabrasion can also be done, but this might require several sessions. Skin resurfacing using lasers is also an option.
