Thank you for replying, I do not work in any water, and have a shower at home daily. I have tried salt soaks but this seemed to dry them out and make them itchy.
I use Epiderm at least 3 times a day but although it relieves the dryness temporary it does,nt cure it.
I need to put dressings on my heels most days to walk as I am a clinic nurse, but I find I react to these after a short while. Now only work 2 half days a week because of the problem.
My heels have have peeled quite a lot, I am now going to try some natural products from America sold on the internet, it is costing me so much money but I will try anything to get an improvement.
Do you think just staying off them completely for a week would help?
I do have dry skin and I am 65 years old so this doesnt help.
Hello,
The cause of cracked heels could be dry skin or excess working in water, allergic to some irritant etc. Try to cover your feet always and apply petroleum jelly in night. Wear plastic slippers when in water. Stop working in water for long and wash your feet regularly with warm water and added salt. Remove dry skin by scrubbing it thoroughly.
