For the last 4 years I've had an on-going problem that is getting worse. It started with my lower legs. When I would shave and the hair would start growing back my legs itched terribly. I saw a dermatologist and decided to have laser hair removal to solve the problem. It helped a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys but now it has spread. periodically I get hives(?) on different parts of my body. Now it is every day. If I don't take a zyrtecZyrtec Zyrtec dye-free sugar-free Zyrtec hives Zyrtec-d EVERY day I can't get through the day without going crazy with the hives. Exactly 24 hours after I take a half ZyrtecZyrtec Zyrtec dye-free sugar-free Zyrtec hives Zyrtec-d (practically to the minute) they come back. The Dermatologist wasn't helpful and 1000 dollars worth of allergy testing told me what I already know. I'm allergic to grass, trees, etc...
I don't roll around in the grass and this is something that has gotten progressively worse; the doctors don't have a definitive answer. I've done the usual things like stopping fabric softener and hypoallergenic bed.
Thanks for the response. Yes, there is a very strong history of all of the above. I've always had allergy problems, but the last 4 to 5 years its has gotten worse. The itching never goes away unless I take an antihistamine. I am really sensitive to medications in general; having to take something every day really wipes me out. With 4 kids this is hard. I have always gone the natural route with everything, so this kind of scares me. What will long term, daily use of this med do to my body and will I gradually need more as time goes on. Is there another way?
Hypersensitivity reactions which manifest as hives or urticaria are chronic and recurrent. I do understand your concern but this condition may be controlled through oral antihistamines or avoiding all possible triggers. As for all types of allergic reactions, the triggers will not always be identified.
For how long have you been experiencing the symptoms?
Is there a strong history of allergies, asthma or allergic rhinitis in the family?
