skin rash

by maryl, Dec 28, 2000 12:00AM
Since last April I have had an eruption three different times of a round, slightly raised, itchy rash mainly on my thighs but also some on my back and shoulders. The last eruption, this past Friday, included smaller rashes on my ankles and blisters on the two larger rashes on my thigh and back. Some are as large as 1 1/2 inches in diameter. These slowly fade to brown over the next several days and remain brown. I have no other symptoms. What could it be and what type of physician should I see? Thank you.

Maryl:

It sounds as if you may have a non-allergic form of eczema.  I suggest you show the rash to a dermatologist, who can provide definitive diagnosis and helpful treatment.

The brown should go away in time, without additional treatment.

Best.
