I have had a rash around my nose now for about 9 months.  I have tried hydrocortisone Butyrate.  It worked for a short time but the rash always comes back .    what can I do about this?   Thanks  roe327

Hi
There could be several causes for rashes and itch on the nose such as hives, insect bites, dermatitis, psoriasis or any allergic reaction. Hives or urticaria is an allergic condition which causes red and sometimes itchy bumps on your skin. Hives can occur anywhere on the body such as the face, trunk, arms, and legs. They are usually allergic (food, medication and insect stings) but may also be due to infections and stress. Many a times no specific cause for them is ever found.

You may try some OTC antihistaminics (such as cetirizine, loratidine, benadryl). You may try calamine lotion locally which has a soothing effect. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene and thoroughly wash several times daily. Since the rash has been present for a long time now, it is important to find out the underlying cause I possible. I would advise you to undergo a consultation with your GP.
Regards
