The skin in the genitalia are much thinner and more sensitive. If the skin tag appears to be bothersome and has started to become symptomatic then this may need to be removed ether surgically or medically.
In terms of using medications for removal, it is best to allow your physician do the application.Do not apply medication by yourself since too much medication may affect uninvolved skin.

I suggest you have this checked so your physician will decide on whether to remove the skin tag or not.Skin tags are not malignant or contagious and when small ,they are best left to themselves.
