skin ulcer

my new born 3 month old suffered from single skin ulcer in the groin area it is 1/2 cm and appear before 3 weeks , i applied fusidin cream tid and he take systemic vancomycin but no response . he take vancomycin because cbc test was with high wbc=23 and crp was 27 . and it go to normal after vancomycin but the ulcer still present.the ulcer is like the oral aphthus ulcer in shape but wih redness arround it and swelling. plz. help me

Your son is very young and if he is having any skin ulcer at this age, it should be evaluated. Ideally this ulcer should be scraped and the swab sample sent for culture sensitivity as most likely it looks like a bacterial infection. Culture will also reveal the sensitivity of this ulcer to antibiotics and accordingly appropriate antibiotics can be prescribed.
