I've had this small red bump for about 6 years now. It doesn't itch or hurt. It's looks like a very small zit (circular) but it's completely red. It's just 1 and it has stayed the same size (slightly raised above the skin). I thought maybe it was a mole
but why would it be red? When I squeeze it, the skin looks like a blister (thin skin). I used a toenail clipper to cute the skin off and it bled and then the red dot was there again.
. They most often on the chest, back, shoulders, and earlobes. Keloids are firm, rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules, and can vary from pink to flesh-colored or red to dark brown in color and usually turn unsightly. They sometimes get infected and tend to be itchy, tender, or even painful to the touch. If the keloid becomes infected, it may ulcerate.
Sometimes a mole can change its colour or increase or decrease in size, which may indicate some precancerous changes. Hence, it is very important not to tamper the bump in any way, which may lead to complications like infection.
I suggest that you consult a dermatologist who can diagnose the condition and prescribe appropriate treatment for it.
Cortisone injections (intralesional), surgery, laser, cryotherapy, interferons and fluorouraci ( a chemotherapeutic agent) are used for the treatment of keloids.
