small red circular rash on foot

small red circular rash on foot

I know that this member's question is a year old but I hope he did research and got help for Lyme. The perfect round red rash is Lyme.  And you said that you worked in a vet clinic.  That inproves your chances of getting Lyme.  I hope that you saw a Lyme specialist.

Most doctors do not know about Lyme disease - you have to see a Lyme specialist.  If you haven't, please go to http://www.lymenet.com and find one in your area.

In 1998, I had a perfect round rash on the inside of my right arm.  It did not itch or hurt.  I was not sick.  The doctor said I could not get Lyme in Michigan.  And since I wasn't sick anyway, I didn't need antibiotics.  He told me it would just clear up.

I was a very healthy person and started getting strange things happening.  I lost my gallbladder.  I was sick all the time.  Arthritis started developing (a lot of it, all over).  Five years after the bite, I got pneumonia and it developed into severe fibromyalgia symptoms.  One year later I got Raynaud's, had a seizure, an abnormal brain scan followed a couple of months later by a normal one.  Symptoms kept getting worse.  Two years after this, I developed three types of neuropathy, bone deterioration, muscle atrophy.  I lost 100 lbs. for no reason.  I lost some function in my hands, my midsection.  I lost some digestion functioning.  The list goes on and on.

I was misdiagnosed by doctors until last summer when I finally diagnosed myself and got the right test done.  Again, your typical doctor knows nothing about Lyme and the CDC says that if you are not sick at the time of the rash, you do not need antibiotics.  If you are sick, you can have 10 days, and if you are still sick, you can have 10 more days and that is all.  It is not nearly enough.

Two doctor think I have MS but I do not test positive.  I have had so many, many diagnoses over the years and the medical bills have been ridiculous.  Practically no research has been done on Lyme. It is almost impossible to get disability.

Lyme has destroyed my life.  If only information on this disease would get out, if only research was done on this, if only...

Get help now if you haven't already, and to everyone else - my red circle rash did not itch, did not hurt, and I did not see a bite in the middle.  It took about a month for it to fade and I did not get the typical flulike symptoms.  If you have anything like this, it is Lyme.
