spot on face

for about 3 or 4 weeks now, there has been a pimple like dot on my face, surrounded by a perfect circle of skin which is much, much lighter than my own skin tone.  this pimple like dot has no pus in it.  the dot seems to growly, very slowly; the perfect circle area seems to be staying the same.  i'm 20 y/o' otherwise healthy.  recently got a cat, if that makes any differenc.

My 11 years old son has had a small round ring just below his eye on his cheek with little bumps in it for about 2 weeks.  It really doesn't look like acne and it seems to be getting bigger.

Perfectly symmetrical things, especially of recent onset, hardly ever mean anything at all.  My advice is to as little as possible, nothing out of the ordinary, for a month or so.  No squeezing or excess touching.  Bet it goes away.  If not, show a doc.  The cat's off the hook.
