spots due to sweating?

Hi Doc!

Im a landscape gardener, and in this hot sun have been sweating buckets!

Recently in the last week, ive got loads and loads of small spots on my forehead!

Is this due to me sweating loads, and wiping my forehead with dirty fore arms, and generally working in dirty conditions?

I use a face wash every night, and live a fairly healthy life style!

This is called miliaria crystallina due to sweat gland block.Apply calamine you should be ok.

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything with examination, but it looks like milaria rubra or sweat dermatitis. Tiny red spots with itching and pricking sensation are the characteristic appearance of this rash.

Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime.Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Also use cotton clothes and change the clothes twice if there is any increased sweating.Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. If there is any itching antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin can be taken.

I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

I bought some calamine earlier.

Its hard to keep the skin free from sweat what with the recent heat wave! Being quite a physical job I sweat buckets!

The spots have only appeared in the last week since the heat, so im pretty sure its due to that!

I use an exfoliating face wash every night, so will see how I get on!

Thanks for the help! :)
