I am currently on bactrim and doxycycl that the ER dr sent home with me and while at the hospital received 300mg of intravenous antibiotic zyvox. Usually they give you keflex if you are allergic to any of the "cillin" (antibiotics containing the suffix "cillin" antibiotic such as penicillin, amoxicillin, etc. I'm not sure because I am definitely not a doctor but I do have 6 children, so I've had plenty of doctors visits and advice.
