sticky lips

hi there, i have dry sticky lips that i began to notice about six months ago. i thought this was from the change in weather initially and began to use a lot of lip balm hoping this woulld go away. however its getting worse and really starting to get me down - i don't have any problem with my saliva, just lips that stick together and feel like they are coated in an extra layer of skin., its weird and annoying and i feel self conscious about kissing my boyfriend. help! does anyone know what this might be and how to make my lips normal again? i feel desperate about it!

I am experiencing the same thing that you are.  It is very frustrating!  I don't know about you, but I have been to two different doctors who have been completely useless to me.  I don't have any kind of answer for you, but please let me know if you hear something useful.  My lips are dry, sticky, burn, and itch.  I am posted under tscrow (lip issue).

hi there, i haven't been to see a doctor about it yet - i kind of just started to realise that it was not normal, because it was subtle and i put it down to the change to cold weather and thought i just had dry lips. mine don't burn or itch, maybe you need to ask your doctor about std's? or do you smoke? around the time i started to notice this, i was smoking a lot more than usual and starting to think it may have something to do with it. i probably need to stop and see if it goes away but then think that i did smoke before, so whats the difference? do you know if doctors respond to these postings?
