Cocoa butter only helps in preventing them,it DOES not fade them. And honestly,stretch marks are genetic,so even preventing them is a stretch.
I got them really bad when pregnant.Bright red,purple...just awful. All I can say is,time has faded them alot to skin colored to where they dont look so bad anymore.
I have heard that possibly a laser treatment might help,or Retna-A.But nothing can get rid of them completely.

So...I'm assuming the way it helps stretch marks is by stimulating new cell growth which has been damaged by the skin stretching...giving the skin a tighter,fresher appearance.
