sun damage and elidel

I had been perscribed Elidel and applying it to my face for several days.  I then spent last weekend outdoors and was in the sun quite a bit.  Two - three days later, I started noticing several small red veins appearing on my cheeks and the sides of my face -  they fit the description of  telangiectasias  I also have noticed brown spots and lines in my forhead and eyes.  THESE JUST APPEARED.   I have never had these before nor reacted to the sun like this before.   I was told this is sun damage.  

Would the Elidel have made me more sensitive to the sun and contributed to this happening???  

Can I except more veins to appear?  These veins can be treated with lasers, yes?   I hope so since 4 days ago I had beautiful skin and I am beyond upset.

Elidel doesn't break blood vessels--in fact, that's one reason it's used.  

I would be willing to bet that the blood vessels and brown spots and lines were there before, only you just started looking more closely.  I can't prove this, of course, but blood vessels don't appear overnight, even when you use super-strong steroids--it takes weeks or months.

Anyhow, have a skin doctor check you out.  If these lines and spots disturb you, have them removed.

Elidel has made my skin more sensitive to the sun, so I use sunscreen whenever there's a chance I might be in the sun.  I am not sure why my dermo prescribed it but, I didn't like the Elidel and stopped using it.

I did not suggest or question that elidel caused the broken blood vessels, I was questioning if it could make my skin more sensitive to the sun and more susceptible to sun damage.  

And regardless of what she bets, these blood vessels just appeared - I had been monitoring my face super closely for over two weeks - so it was not something that escaped my attention.

To my knowledge, Elidel doesn't make people sun sensitive.  

If your blood vessels appeared overnight, I am unable to explain it.

I too had a bad reaction to elidel 1% cream, I am not sure why no one thinks this can happen.  I had a severe reaction to my neck and face after applying.  This happened withing two hours of application.

If you read the warning that comes with Elidel, it says not to use it if you are going to be exposed to the sun for long periods of time.
