sun rash

I have never had any issues w/sun exposure. The last two days I have been getting a raised, itchy rash.
I also remember my mom saying my grandmother had lupus and couldn't sit in the sun. I aslo have a brother who had alpishea (hair loss probably not spelling that correct.) and this year I have noticed that My hair is thinner and constantly split ends , Me and my hairdresser could not understand why. I had to cut my hair short. I aslo noticed I have that weird butterfly rash.
I can actually feel my face when it comes. it comes and goes. I did a google on Lupas. To see if that what my sun rash was and was amazed by three things that are present. should i be concerned? I noticed my six year old son had the butterfly rash. I never thought about it until his teacher said i should have it checked.

You should consult your doctor and get a proper clinical examination and certain blood tests done. You would definitely need to rule out lupus or SLE - whether systemic or localized as the cause of your symptoms.
Are you having any other symptoms?
Post us about what your doctor advises and it would be best to consult the doctor about your son too.
