sun rash???

by msmuck, Apr 22, 2008 07:12PM
I am 28 years old and for two years now I get a red blotchy rash after being in the sun.  It usually happens if I stay in the sun for at least two hours and if I go in the sun again the next day even for a half hour it gets worse.  I usually have to wait about four days for it to go away.  I know that I need to use sunblock to help this problem but I am wondering if this is sun rash and/or if it is something I should be concerned about?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,

What you describe seems like sweat dermatitis or heat rash.

You should try to keep the area dry and clean. Try some powder to absorb the sweat.

If the symptoms are still persistent, consult your dermatologist and get a proper clinical evaluation done.

Meanwhile, avoid sun exposure and use a medicated sunscreen.

Let us know if you have any doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Good luck.
