sunspots

A dermatologist prescribed Hydroquinone 4% for me one week ago.  Since then, I have noticed redness and tightness at the sites.  I have also noticed a very fine rash.  My dermatologist said this was to be expected and did not seem too concerned.  My face hurts!  How much longer should I continue to use this product, if any?  I have been using it as prescribed, twice daily, as well as using sunscreen when outdoors.

If the pain persists you need to seek follow up consult with your physician prescriber. You may need to have this medication modified. I suggest that you also seek second opinion on this. Always use sunscreen when you are outdoors to avoid further irritation of the skin.

For how long have you been using the hydroquinone?

Sunspots are VERY normal.. alot of people get these esp while using a tanning bed...  you can also go to a tanning bed and ask for sunspot treatment that works.  it's usually a clear ointment like, and doesnt make your face hurt.  it's not that expensive either.  i had to use it to one year while working at a tanning bed because i got sunspots on my face.  i dont think it should hurt!
