temporary use of Rogaine

by lfung5, Oct 10, 2009 06:56AM
I was wondering if I can use Rogaine for other types of hair loss? The company says it's only for female/male pattern baldness. I was taking a medicine called Plaquenil. My hair started falling out about a month after taking it. I have been off it for about 2 months and my hair continues to fall out. I called the company that makes Plaquenil and they said alopecia is a side effect. Plaquenil has a half life of 50 day and can remain in the system for 5 times that. It gets deep into the tissues. They told me my hair may continue to fall out for a year or more. Can I use Rogaine to buy me some time? Rogaine is meant to be used for life. I don't want to do any harm to my healthy follicles. I appreciate your advice. Thanks
