I too have been experiencing skin tenderness. I woke up with it one day ago. Its along my pelvis (where your underpants elastic would go), my upper thigh and wraps around to my bum cheek. I have never experienced anything like it before.....I almost do not know how to explain it. Very hypersensitive to the touch, tender, almost feels like a sunburn (without the heat). There are absolutely no signs of any redness, skin discoloration, bumps, lumps or bruises. If anyone has any insight on to what this may be, or any suggestions of relief, I would greatly appreciate it.

This is unreal to read your comment/question.  Because I am having the same thing at my back right side between my shoulder blade to right above my waist line.  It hurts so much to touch.  I have had my husband rub me with Bluestuff (a emu lotion) but it hurts to rub it on.
And it really doesn't give me any relief.  It has been there for five days now and has not let up at all.
Tylenol arthritis does not help.
Warm bath does not help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Skin areas can be tender due to various reasons such as rash, skin infections, or local skin problems. Nerve conditions can also lead to paresthesias that cause pins-and-needles, prickling, burning sensations, or numbness in an area of skin.

The following can also be attributed to pain: boils, blisters, skin ulcers, psoriasis, shingles, cellulitis, diabetic neuropathy or paresthesias. Are there other signs or symptoms present? Any pain needs medical investigation. It would be good to have your doctor evaluate the cause of you pain.A complete medical history and physical examination is important to arrive to a clinical diagnosis.

Take care and regards.
