I am 48 and looking for a second opinion. I have several places on my face where the skin is a bit rough. I recently visited a dermatologist who froze two such spots off of my nose, and one under my eye.  I hardly felt it, and so far, so good.  I believe he said it was the beginning of a keratosis, a precancerous condition.  But all across my forehead at the hairline (where hair used to be when I was younger!), the skin is not discolored at all, but it is rough.  He felt it when he ran his hand over my face.  You couldn't tell anything by just looking at me.  He said it was the beginning of lots of little keratoses, too little to freeze off. And he wants me back to do some kind of chemical treatment on them.  Does this sound right?  I suspect that I just have some dry flaky skin, and prefer not to have a 'chemical treatment' for keratoses if it's not really needed. Thanks.
