tight face

i am 65 with normal skin. the past 3 months i have experienced uncomfortable tight, dry facial  skin. Even using emu oil does not relieve it.  My face feels like it is on fire but looks normal. Body skin is fine.

Recently diagnosed w diabetes 2.  i am thin and fit with heriditarily good causian skin of average texture.  Very nice skin.  antihistamines do not relieve.

what could it be?

Sometimes eczema feels like dry skin that can't be relieved by moisturizing.  I suggest over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone cream.  Try that for a few days.  It might then be a good idea to see a skin doctor for confirmation or other advice.  I see no connection with diabetes or other disease.
