tiny itchy lumps on lip edges

I have had these little red itchy lumps on the edges of my lips for months and months and i really dont know what to do next!!!!! I went to my gp and they did a blood test for herpes which came back negative and i have also been trying cold sore cream on them but it does nothing. Sometimes they almost feel like they have gone away but then like a flick of a switch they start burning and itching like crazy. They get a little irritated when i clean my teeth from the toothpaste and sometimes they get irritated in the shower from the heat. I just have no idea where they have come from and they are driving me crazy....
What do i do next???
Should i see a dermatoligist?????
Please help me :(

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to an allergic reaction to the toothpaste or irritated hair follicles present around the mouth. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics and topical steroids may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I know people who react to toothpaste.  You might want to try more natural types, like Tom's.  Or even try using plain baking soda instead of toothpaste  and see if that gives relief before buying a new product.
