head and my penis head looked fine. Because i never used to wash the area under my foreskin, i figured it out it seemed like yeast. So i started washing my penis and pull back my fore skin whenever i take a bath. I also try to keep it dry as possible as i can and sometimes use coconut oil. I never used any anti fungal cream such as itch guard or any antibiotics.
2 days after having sex (protected and unprotected) when i was taking a bath, i saw tiny red dots started to come on my penis head. It was itching a lilttle bit that time but it faded away in 2 days. After a week or 2 i showed my penis to the doctor and also had my std done aside from herpes test as the doctor refused to take it as he didn't see any blisters or dots. I showed it to two doctors and both said it looked fine. Now i haven't had sex for the last 3 -4 months but still keep checking my penis 3-4 times. Recently, i saw those tiny red or pink dots on my penis head (no blisters, no pain, no itching, not in a cluster, no fluid filled, no white head inside the red dots) after the bath and it again faded away the next morning. I am wondering if the yeast has moved up to the penis head or is it some kind of disease that i have. I have looked up the pictures of herpes and it doesn't look like herpes nor i have fallen sick or anything. My penis head looks like pics of candida balanitis. I am wondering if i can use itch guard on my penis head if possible? or is there any other thing that i can do to get my penis look healthy and permanently get rid of these dots.
I forgot to mention the girl that i had is clean and doesn't have any std or sti. Please help me, i really want to get rid of this problem. It really bothers me alot. Which antifungal to use or not to use on penis head? Those dots are not raised, no fluid filled blisters, no itching ( not that i think or very minimal), or tingling. I think the yeast has moved up as i have researched about candida balanitis and seems more like that. I have itch guard and wondering if i can use it on my penis head. Please give me the directions also how to use it.
From the symptoms balanitis needs to be ruled out. Oral course of antibiotics is needed. In addition, pls don’t use any cosmetics on the penis, instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin. Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin .In case the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and antimicrobials and steroids prescription.
Thank you so much for the response. I will try to find bacitracin or lotrimin if they're available over the counter. Also wondering what could be the reason behind such an infection. Is it because of poor hygiene? I thought it was candida balanitis as it looked like the pics of candida balanitis. Do i have to retract my foreskin whenever i go to the bathroom or just at the time of bath?Should i dry my penis before pulling back my foreskin? I was thinking to use Clotrimazole I.P 1.00% w/w (Itch guard) ointment on penis head if that could be helpful.
Also, is there any ointment that has bacitracin or lotrimin? I'm very worried about this infection. I really want to get rid of this thing and at the same time am too embarrassed to go to a dermatologist. Can i send the pics to you if thats an option via email? Which antibiotics tablets would be helpful?
I know i'm asking too many questions but Dr please try to understand my situation. I keep getting negative thoughts or looking at the pics of herpes, balanitis and other std's. I really need your help.
Hello,
Both yeast and candida are fungal infections and mean the same thing. You can get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to confirm the diagnosis. If it is a fungal infection, then this will come positive.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
