tonsils and adanoides

my son is 2 1/2 since he was a baby he has had bad sickness but as he started on food he started to be sick during or after most meals by the time he was 1 1/2 i had been to the doctors more times than i can remember and was told it is reflux but now i have notices his tonsils are huge and he is having real dificulty sleeping as he snores really loadly and even stops breathing i have taken to him sleeping with me as to keep an eye on him he is always chocking on his food and brings it up only haveing a few mouth fulls i dont think this could be reflux, i had to have my tonsils taken out when i was 9 as i had recurrent tonsilittis i dont think that is the case for my son but maybe the big tonsils have run in the family? any advise much needed doctors keep telling me im a worried mother and i know my son im not a worrier i know there is something wrong!

he could have allergies, instead of going to a doctor go to a paediatrician or ENT, GP's often dont really know that much about kids and miss so much.. my doctor told my parents for year i was making up not being able to breathe until i turned 18 and sought my own medical advice, which resulted in turbinates being ressected. ur son cld have this... its when u eat, breathe anything and u have a reaction and a thing in ur nose swells up and blocks off the whole airway which makes sick when u eat and snore really loudly and is often confused with reflux.. i have very very big tonsils too which i also wonder if it is due to my nose stuff. this was only my diagnosis tho, i wld really advise going to an ENT

you know you don't need to get refferred through your gp to see an ent. next time he is unwell take him to emergency. when i worked in paediatric ward, the amount of children we admitted for conditions like this was crazy.. often all saying there gps didnt take it seriously.

when you say admitted what is it you mean? and what do you think i should do how bad do things have to get before any one will listen to me i really feel that unless a child is half dead there ok in gps eyes why dont they pay any attention to the one person who knows a child best (mother) i feel that my opinions mean nothing to them

i Know, i understand how hard it is. admitted means put into hospital. If you are so unsatisfied with your GP then i would really consider seeing another doctor. yeah as i was saying GP's can miss things in children fairly easily because there trained as a whole, like they do the entire age span. If your child is in hospital ie. emergency, the paediatrician has to see him before they are legally allowed to send him home.
