unknown body rash

I'm 24 years old. I've always had sensitive skin, so when my coworkers noticed 2 large swollen bug bites the size of a soda can on my arms it didn't surprise me. The bites were slightly red and had a hard, heavy feeling but they weren't itchy. A few days later i developed a rash. It started near my ankles then moved  behind my knees, to my thighs, on my forearm (inside of elbow), neck and is now reaching my face and even eyes. The rash is in 2 forms: a scratchlike linear rash and the majority of the rash consists of tiny red bumps. I'm used to having the rashes...but not so severe that it reaches my face or eyes. They usually stay on my legs. I hate to take medicine but i had to use an anti itch cream as well as benadryl/allegra pills which don't seem to be working. It's been nearly a week since the rash first started...should i continue to wait it out or consult my doctor? Also is there something i can do to prevent it? I tried researching it but there are so many causes... Please help!
