very confused

Ok so about 7 months ago I had a red spot at the base of my penis. I thought it might be an ingown hair so I started messing with it. I though I could kind of see the hair I tried to get it out and picked at it for a while. It turned into somewhat of a sore but I think it was from me messing with it. Well it healed up and there is a scar. Once it healed I noticed that it seemed at little raised so I squeezeed it and white puss came out of it. Every week or so I seem to be able to squeeze puss out of it. I would say the longest I have left it alone was about 3 weeks and then a bunch of puss came out. This whole thing freaked me out and I though I had a std but I got tested for everything and everything was neg. I really don't understand what this is. I was thinking that there might still be a ingrown hair or something but the spot never really gets the hair out. After i usually mess with it it becomes red and is usually beack to normal in about a day or 2. If I mess with it a little more then usual it will sometimes scab slightly. I was wondering if you had ever heard of anything like this or think you might know what is going on. If it does have to do with an ingorwn hair issue is there any way to keep ingrown hairs from happening as much. I can't seem to get this off my mind

It sounds like an inflamed follicle that you keep messing with.  If you apply bacitracin or neosporin on it and stop messing with it, it will go away.  Otherwise, it won't.  It does not soind like herpes, so I see no need for you to get another herpes test.

Best.

I also wanted to add that I got a herpes gg test 12 weeks after my last sexual encounter and it was neg. That was about a month ago, and I was wondering if you would reccommend a retest
