very red and sore arm pits also smell very strong like rotten meat

i quit using gel deoderant approx.2 months ago due to a hip replacement and i was not sweating so i did not need to use it and after a while i started to notice a slight irritation which has gotten worse to the point of very sore, raw and smelly arm pits. I have tried washing with warm water and soap twice aday and adding antibiotic ointment, but it is not seeming to help .

I've had this. I've had a hot red sore absess under my arm, which eventually teared itself open into a little hole and drained itself in my skin. My armpit never looked healthier. But I was left with a deep skin hole under my armpit which needed to be covered. IThe rash eventually spread to the left arpit , where skin tears and holes started to come out of nowhere. It gave off a sweet ***** smell. The only thing that helps is hot running water. I've had it for a year and my armpit skin has become dry and tough. I havnt be able to wear a bra and I  find it difficult to get dressed. Its amazing that it hasn't healed up already. The doctors don't know what to do either.

I know several people who have experienced this (one for years) and i recommended the same thing that has worked extremely well and fast in every single case.
Go to a health food store or online and get the crystal deodorant. I am talking about the solid salt stick that you moisten and apply to your underarms to control odor.
Salt is very healing. It stings very slightly when you first apply but that is gone in seconds and you actually get pain relief. always apply it to clean underarms and use it daily or every other day.
You will notice a difference almost immediately and it will heal quickly.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to intertrigo. It is an inflammation (rash) of the body folds. It most commonly occurs due to bacterial, viral or fungal infection. An intertrigo usually appears red and raw-looking, and may also itch, ooze, and be sore.

Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Topical zinc oxide cream like Sudocrem, Desitin are very helpful(apply with a paper towel and not directly with hands).Application of mild steroid cream like dermacort also helps. For the itching please take some over the counter antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. In case the symptoms persist then antifungals may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
