wart type bumps

I just took my daughter to the doctor for some 'bumps' she has on her waist.  I was told what they were and can not remember what they are called.  I know they are very similar to a wart, but have a much longer name.  I know they are a virus and they are contageous.  Appartently this is very common in children?  When we were at the Dr. yesterday he put a solution on them to make them go away.  There was a reaction which caused blisters.  I would just like to know the actual name.  If it help they look sort of like a pimple, but don't pop.  Sort of like a wart, but small. and the top of the bump is like a little divet.
