warts from sun exposure

I have genital warts.  I swear on my own eyes that I never had sexual contact with any person other than my wife... I did, however, shave my pubic area and tan in MY OWN tanning bed.  So  many weeks later I noticed growths which, through biopsy, were declared to be genital warts.  Has this situation ever been anticipated in the medical community?
I have had warts on my hands for 15 years... but I guarantee, on penalty of death and damnnation, that I did NOT contract this virus from sexual intercourse.  Again, has this been documented?

Genital warts are usually transmitted by vaginal, oral or anal intercourse but can be transmitted during foreplay like hand transmission of genital warts i.e. touching a partner’s genitals, and then touching your own with the same hand. So this possibility cannot be ignored. The other possibility is that the strain of warts on hands can be HSV 2(although less likely). In that case, you can transmit the HSV 2 to the genitalia also. My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and decide on the treatment part.

Thank you.  Treatment is going well, I'm just concerned with HOW I ended up with this mess.  My dermatologist stated that sun exposure can cause auto-immune problems, but I have found very little information to back up that assertion.  I only know that I didn't contract this through intercourse.
