actaully the dermatologist just said it was fine, am i right to assume it is fine is the same as saying it is not a wart? if were a wart the derm would not say it was fine?...maybe i am overthinking his answer i am just not sure how serious doctors take genital warts,?

Hi
This should offer you some relief now, that you have this assessed by a dermatologist. Yes, I would take your doctors word for this given that they have all said the same thing. Warts may be readily identified as they have their own characteristic appearance. At this point, I would not think this is something infectious and your doctors have examined you already. Warts and molluscum may be identified at first glance, and your doctors have not considered your case to be any of these.
hi
i made it to the dermatologist, who quicky looked at it and just said its fine nothing to worry about and moved on...he did not tell me what it was... just to claify if he were to think it was a wart he would have removed right, along with any other wart? i wont keep posting on the subject i would just like to feel comforatable with that question so i can move on.
thanks a bunch
Hi
Most likely the opinion of a dermatologist will not really differ for localized skin lesions like skin tags or warts. Unless, you have other associated symptoms like redness, pain, discharge, joint pans or urinary patterns, the diagnosis may not differ largely. However, it is best to have this assessed as specialists may be able to request further tests and may even prescribe certain medications that general practitioners may not offer.
As for autoinoculation, this means that you can spread certain skin conditions to other parts of your body. Thus, if you have a wart on your fingers, touching your chest or genitals may infect the area .The lesions may manifest in 2 to 9 months for warts.
i have had one sexual partner in my life we had unprotected sex about a year and half ago, she has had more partners than me but had never had an abnormal pap test if that means anything for my situation?....i beleive the lesion could have been there all my life but not unitl i decided to actually check did i really notice it...i want to move into a new relationship and even though i do not have reason to beleive i have an std i want to be sure, i guess for some reason the to MD's responses of circumcision scars or tags didnt convince me does that sound silly?....i guess since you are in MD yourself how likely is a dermatologist to have a different opinion than two MD"S?
thanks for all your help?
also what is autoinoculation, sorry for my ignorance?
Hi
A specialist may be able to identify the lesion as his training could have given him more exposures to such condition. However, most skin problems may be readily diagnosed based on visual inspection and a complete medical history. In the absence of a significant sexual history such as unprotected sex with multiple sex partners, then genital warts may be more likely. In your case, differentials may still include warts as warts may be transmitted not only sexually but through autoinoculation and direct skin to skin contact. Skin tags may appear as tiny to large stalked skin colored lesions. At this point, this does not sound serious although I understand that you are very worried about this. Observe the skin condition and see if the bumps increase in number or appear in other parts of the body. Refrain from picking on the lesions (allow me to call these lesions).
I was having issues regarding growth/unusual stuff around my genitals, and i showed it to my dermatologists and she said that they treat warts, afterall its a skin related issue.
so i think its a safe bet that dermatologists can give opinions/diagnosis.
