Hello,
The symptoms are clearly of an ingrown hair or boil. Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection. Bacterial skin infections can be spread by shared cosmetics or washcloths, close human contact, or by contact with pus from a boil or carbuncle.

Apply warm compresses on the boil and keep the area clean. Drainage of the boil is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head. Take some over the counter pain reliever, apply Neosporin cream or Bactroban cream and consult a doctor for examination and oral antibiotics prescription.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Hello,
Please do not poke it or mess with it. If it is afriction blister or infected follicle, it should go away after some time, but if it ulcerates and scabs, then herpes has to be ruled out. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers (sores) that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur. Typically, another outbreak can appear weeks or months after the first, but it almost always is less severe and shorter than the first outbreak.

The only way of ruling it out is by getting yourself tested for genital herpes. Laboratory tests include: culture of the virus, direct fluorescent antibody (DFA) studies to detect virus, skin biopsy, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to test for presence of viral DNA.
Hope it helps .Take care and Kind regards.

Hello,
Three possibilities are there for this bump. It can be a boil, a friction blister or an infected sebaceous cyst. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
Hope it helps .Take care and please do keep us posted in case you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
