what could this be?

Hey, a little bit of background... I'm a white 27 yr. old female.  I have light skin and red hair.  I take Zrytec D, birth control pills, multi-vitamin along with numerous supplements.  I have a huge fear of cancer, grandmother died of Ovarian cancer.  My problem:  About a year or year and half ago I noticed what appeared to be a wart or two on my right knee and right just below my knee, they had that cauilflowe look to them.  Well I shaved my legs and knees and not thinking anything about it, I noticed some more small what appeared to be warts, almost the size of a dotted i (like if you use a pen to dot a i).  Ever since, since I keep shaving my legs and knees it seems like they just keep multiplying.  Now they seem to be kinda flat looking with a rough-smooth top.  Is that because I keep shaving and it cuts the tops off?  They are slighty elevated and flesh colored looking unless you press on them, then they are kinda of red looking then back to flesh color.  It seems like everytime I shave, the tops get cut off and they are real soft, almost like you can kinda pick them off.  They don't itch and they don't look swollen.  There is probably about 20 small looking ones and 2 bigger ones.  They are in a small patch and I have a few spread here and there on my legs that look the same.  I usually stay out of the sun and up to the age of 17 I use to tan every summer for about 2 years.  Does this sound like warts or flat warts or something more serious?  I go to see a derm. dr. next Monday.  I'm just scared it could be something else and I waited to long.  Thank you for your time

Don't worry--they sound like warts, not cancer.  They say that shaving them spreads them, but I have not found that to be true most of the time.  Anyway, your dermatologist will take care of you.  I'm sure you haven't lost out by waiting.

Take care.
