white spots on hands&legs

sir  i  am  having  whitespots  on  my hands  &legs  especiaaly  on  nuckells  &malleleosof  legs  .   i  am  having  them  last  17years   now  i  am  having  20 years.  there  r  not  spreading.  i  am not  having  any  icth  & pain  in  that  area.  and   i  am  not  having  any  physical  problem  with  them..    i  am  psycologically  depresed  abt  them.
being  a  medico  i  dont  know  the  reason   of  that   .please  help  me  to  get  rid  of  them.......

How old are you?

I can see the pictures, but it is not very clear.

With regards to these white spots, are they flat or are they elevated?

Do they have scales?

Are the scalp and arms also involved? Any problems with the nails?

I suggest that you have this evaluated by your physician. One differential for this is psoriasis.Other causes may be pityriasis alba, tinea versicolor ( a fungal infection) and vitiligo( a problem with pigmentation).

Pityriasis alba usually appears at an early age.This may present as white patches of skin with no well defined borders unlike vitiligo and tina versicolor.They do not scale and they also do not present with symptoms.I feel that this is also a strong differential.
Discuss these with your physician. Pityriasis alba has no known definitive form of therapy.
