white blotches from burns

about five or six years ago me and my brother were serisouly sun burned skiiing, we were told that they were second degree, we had blisters and nasty stuff all over the place but it mostly healed up after two weeks.
since then every summer we have had patches on our face where our skin wont tan.

just wondering if this was normal or if it is a sign of anything and also how can we get rid of it

You have not mentioned your age but it can be due to pityriasis alba or pityriasis versicolor. Pityriasis versicolor is caused by an overgrowth of a yeast fungus and is found mainly on sun exposed areas. Pityriasis alba is a common hypopigmented dermatitis. This is a self-limited disorder that usually resolves by adulthood. Severe cases may benefit by Psoralen plus ultraviolet light A photochemotherapy (PUVA).

I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist for these two conditions.
