white patch on penis

I've had a white patch about 1cm in diameter on the head of my penis for around 4 weeks, the white patch seems to consist of lots of tiny spots.
I am uncircumcised.
I have no idea if this is just a fungus or something more serious.
I would rather not go to a doctor if it is something I can treat at home, also there is my fear or doctors, espiecally when it comes to something this personal.

Just to add there is no pain, and the area does not itch at all. It does not seem to be raised either.
