(yet another) penis bump question

by jstwondering, Oct 20, 2003 12:00AM
hello. two weeks ago i noticed a bump on the shaft of my penis. it was on top of the skin (not below like normal cysts) and it was white in color. even though it was very tiny, i went to my doctor to have it checked out because i know my body and i've never seen a bump like this before.

anyway, my gen practitioner said that it's possible that it could be the beginning of a wart, but if he were to put money down he would bet that it wasn't one. So, good news, but not 100%. he referred me to the dermatologist to make sure.

a week later, i went to the derm and after looking at it for maybe 2 or 3 seconds under regular room lighting, he said that it's nothing to worry about and that "there's no way it could be a wart".
When i asked him how he could be so certain with such a cursory examination, he told me "because i've been looking at these things for 40 years." I then asked, "what if it gets bigger?" to which he replied, "if it gets bigger and bothers you, come back and I’ll remove it."

okay, i can take good news when i hear it.

it is now two weeks since i noticed the bump, and it hasn't gone away. Actually, I’m pretty sure it's gotten a little bigger. I’m trying to trust the derm and believe his diagnosis and not freak out about this anymore, but i seem to be losing the battle.

What i need to know is: based on the (limited, I know) info I gave you here, what does this sound like to you? the derm said what it wasn't, but not what it was. I’m well aware of the normal bumps of the anatomy, but I’ve never had this kind of bump before (I know that doesn’t automatically mean it’s a bad thing, right?)

also, can a doctor make such an absolute statement and end up being wrong? Is it safe to assume that if there was ANY doubt in his mind, he would have biopsied it? I did have anal warts about 4 years ago, no recurrence since (the docs know this, of course). And a year ago i entered into a relationship where there was some digital contact with my anus, so I’m afraid that I could have been contaminated up front from my behind (what are the chances of that?).

Sorry this is so long, and sorry if I seem like another paranoid. I know you have to deal with a lot of us, so thank you!

It sounds like a cyst rather than a wart.  I guess no one, doctor or otherwise, can be perfectly certain, but most of us have enough comfort in our clinical diagnoses to make them without recourse to a biopsy.  This is especially true on the penis.

Anal warts, by the way, do not commonly move forward.

My advice to you is to ask the dermatologist to take one more look, to ask your question very directly, and then to be prepared to accept a favorable clinical verdict.

Take care, and thatks for your kind words.

Dear sir,
I have a small penis, when full erected that is 4"/4".
Now I have to marry. I am 27.I want to enlarge my penis.
I heard about about penis enlargement processes.
Some rocommand penispumps, some penis pills, some surgery.
But I want to know which way is reliable?
If penispump is reliable than which company's pump I should use?
If penispills is reliable than which company's pills I should use? Some of our Dermatology specialis said "It is call placebo therapy . You can apply it but no body can gurantee you"
SO what should I do now. My physical condition is absolutly normal. Please Give me a reply.

Your question is a little off-topic, but I can tell that it is a concern to you. Most of those methods advertised for penis enlargement do not work and some are dangerous. My advice is that you should not worry about it. A 4 inch penis can definitely satisfy most women. Technique is much more important than size. Take lots of time to get her aroused. If you concentrate on making her happy, you won't have to worry about being happy yourself.

Good luck.

Ok i have cysts on my penis and i understand that they will never go away, but i have a few question to ask about them.
My first question is whats the difference between a cyst and a wart?
And also i read on other reports on penis cysts that they spread real fast, so if you get rid of one cyst it will grow back fast. Well then whats stopping them from spreading to other regions on a person?
And my last question is what causes them?
Thanks for any help you can provide me on these questions
