my doctor put me on 75 mgs  of lyrica for my burning feet  it didnt help at all, gabapentin and elavil worked better. Im type 2 diabetic with other chronic pain issues. I am now on methadone that seems to work the best. Hope this helps you  good luck

I don't have diabetes, but I do have burning feet - peripheral neuropathy.  I take Pamelor.  Neurontin didn't seem to help much.  Didn't try Lyrica.  I know the Pamelor (it's just like elavil - less side effects for me) was the only thing that made an immediate difference and gave me some relief.  Good luck and I feel your pain literally!!

Do you have any weight gain with Lyrica?  I started it a couple months ago for my fibromyalgia symptoms (joint/muscle pain) and it has helped immensely.  It also made me put on 15 pounds even though I was dieting.  I stabilized the weight now and am no longer gaining, but I'm 15 pounds heavier and already majorly overweight, though doc thinks that now with diabetic medicine the weight should come off.  I have insulin resistance problems from PCOS which doesn't help the weight issue.

So, does the Lyrica not work well enough at 300 mg?  I'm at 200 right now, and doc wants to up me to 300.  Maybe the risks of over 300 mg are too high to be on it long term.  Shingles pain isn't a forever thing, is it?  So, over 300 mg for shingles would be a temporary dosage.
