Hi, I have type 2 diabetes and on top of that I also have shingles a mild form. Diagnosed in July. I was givev valtrex for 10 days. I went back to the doctor 10/29/2007 and was given (Acyclovir tab 800mg) I am to take 1 tablet 5 times a day for 10 days, then 1 tablet 2 times a day.  This perscription has 2 more refills.

My question is for how long do I keep taking this medicine?

Hi,
I am afraid this question is out of my realm, especially as I do not know the extent of your shingles or your diabetes control, so I think it best if you discuss with your doctor.
take care.
