Change of Insulin

I am taking Humulin-N but my sugar level every morning is around 225. Would you advise shifting to Humulin 70/30

Hi,

this is a patient forum so we can't recommend a med change.

With this high level of fasting sugar you should be talking to your doctor and working closely with him/her.

I imagine they would either increase your insulin dose and/or change your meds.  In addition do look at what you are eating. In some a small snack late at night helps regulate morning blood sugar.

I did use humulin 70-30 in the past and found it quite effective (it has short and longer lasting insulin) at controlling the morning highs.
