I was referred to an endo, not too sure why exactly?

Hi -  This isn't a diabetes question, but I still hope maybe you can answer my question.   I have monostotic fibrous dysplasia of the skull with intractible headache (a benign bone tumor).   I've known about this for 3 years but have had very poor treatment results with the therapy.    Seems like a neurological question, right?  Well hold on--  The new ENT I saw told me he wanted to see me put on a high dose bisphosphonate therapy to relieve my symptoms of headache before he'd consider surgery, but wanted an endocrinologist to prescribe it.    Do you have any idea why?   I would have never guess an endo. of all type doctors would do this?  Especially since I don't have any endocrinological problems that I know of.  Thank you.

HI,
Endocrinologists do prescribe many bisphosphonates because we treat osteoporosis, paget's disease and others with these medications. Perhaps he simply wants to find someone very comfortable with those doses.
Take care

Dr. Ramsetty,  If I may ask a quick follow up question ---

What is your own person take on treating monostotic fibrous dysplasia of the skull with bisphosphonates?
The tumor is 3.5 centimeters, causes me a constant headache and has not grown since its discovery almost 4 years ago.

I will of course be seeing the endocrinoologist at UAB however for treatment but I was wondering about your own opinion about this
