Insulin resistance?

Insulin resistance?

I'm a 30 year old woman recently diagnosed with PCOS (based on ultrasound, anovulation, infertility, and amenorrhea) by a reproductive endocrinologist.  My GP did some blood work and a glucose tolerance test.  my postprandial BG was 87 mg/dL (70 - 140 RR) but my insulin was 32 uIU/mL (0 - 17).  The GP said that I should take the results to the RE and concluded i had "mild insulin resistance" and explained that it took my body twice as much insulin as it should to keep my blood sugar within normal range.  Should insulin spike normally after drinking the glucose drink?  is this really insulin resistance?  am i at risk for diabetes?  Thank you for any help
